About the Artist

Pedro Gabiola

Spain

Pedro Gabiola Belasco was born in Bilbao and is currently based in Estepona (Málaga). He has been dedicated to painting since childhood, showing an early and sustained interest in drawing.

He has received training in classical drawing, graphic arts, art direction, graphic design, and new technologies applied to visual arts.

His work has been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions, and is held in international private collections.

His artistic practice revolves around time, memory, and transformation. Through painting, he explores the idea of reality as a continuous process rather than a fixed image, where every object contains layers of different temporal states. He is particularly interested in how matter, light, and nature reveal constant cycles of change.

Painting, for him, is both a physical and intellectual process, where materials such as acrylic, rust, oil, and found textures become active elements in the construction of meaning.
