Lives and works near Paris. Visual artist: painting, photography and sculpture are my preferred fields, which have led me to present my work in solo and group exhibitions since 1980. As an abstract painter, my work is part of the so-called Abstract Expressionism movement, which came to prominence in the 1960s and whose leading figures remain Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning. The pictorial concept consists in expressing a truth buried deep within oneself, emphasizing the physical act of painting, the gesture at the heart of the work. Painting thus becomes the search for the emergence of what we have experienced, of what has constituted us, of what enables us to live. As for my other passion, photography, it consists in nourishing my painter's imagination by capturing, through travels and encounters, this material that will inscribe itself in my memory, transform itself, amalgamate with other traces of the past, and one fine day be reborn by chance in a painting. This constant to-and-fro between painting and photography is the very purpose of my work as a visual artist.
