Blue is the predominant color of Kingneon's Fauvist portrait of triple threat 20th Century Hollywood star, Fred Astaire. Famed for his phenomenal dancing techniques, most notably opposite Ginger Rogers, Astaire dons a "Top Hat" (1935) and sets off to dazzle audiences on the silver screen.

Fine artist James 'Kingneon' Guçwa was born with a paintbrush in his hand. There was never any doubt that, one way or another, he would become a professional fine art painter. This was his dream. James is often referred to as 'Kingneon' because of the hundreds of canvases he has painted of the American roadside, mostly using the subject of vintage neon signs. "My professional art career as a fine art painter gained traction when I found my personal style. I've painted and sold hundreds of paintings from my 'American Roadside' series, and I'm still at it. These include photo-real paintings of vintage neon motel signs, diners and bars, casinos, gas stations, and weathered billboards. Many of my images I've found combing the Southwestern states of America. I like it when the desert's blazing sun casts long defined shadows from the neon tubes across the face of the sign. I like it at dusk when the neon lights are just turned on and the sky has not fully darkened. I like when the layers of paint on the sign are peeling, fading and its metal is rusting. I like when even the neon glass tubes barely have the strength to hold on. Character is what I'm after." --James ‘Kingneon’ Guçwa Over the years, there have been numerous feature stories of Guçwa’s paintings in art magazines, newspapers and books, along with various interviews on TV. Signs of Art, the photoreal art of James ‘Kingneon’ Guçwa has been published in both hard and soft cover editions. After painting for decades as a photorealist, he recently retreated from gallery representation, but he hasn’t retired his paintbrush. This change and independence has allowed him more freedom to experiment in new painting styles, along with greater flexibility in pricing his originals. In his FAUVISM series, the artist's most recent body of work, Guçwa breaks away from his traditional photorealistic painting style and explores a freer, more rapid approach. Using large swaths of color and movement, Guçwa vividly captures popular icons of today to those of decades and centuries past. "Compared to my photoreal paintings, I am able to complete a fauvism painting much quicker and because I am very prolific, prices of these originals are extremely reasonable." --James ‘Kingneon’ Guçwa James accepts commissions and will paint any subject of your choice, photo-realistically or in his more recent Fauvism style. He also does caricature and portrait work.
