This compelling artwork features a raw and captivating minimalist design, embracing the power and intensity of black ink on a stark white canvas. The artist employs bold, vertical strokes that dominate the composition, creating an immediate visual impact. These thick, black lines extend downwards with a forceful energy, each stroke slightly varied to introduce a dynamic sense of rhythm and movement. Intriguingly, the strokes intersect and converge to form a rudimentary yet evocative face. Two heavy circular forms represent eyes, their irregular shapes and uneven positioning adding a touch of spontaneity and unease. The eyes subtly suggest a wide-eyed, almost startled expression. Beneath these, a single continuous line curves to depict a mouth, presenting a neutral or slightly pensive demeanor, invoking a sense of contemplation. The use of dripping ink imbues the piece with a sense of rawness and urgency, as if the image is weeping or melting into the canvas. The drips extend down from the eyes and mouth, further enhancing the emotional depth and raw honesty of the artwork. The stark contrast between the inky black lines and the pristine white background amplifies the emotional intensity and visual drama. This elemental interplay between light and dark, simplicity and complexity, evokes powerful emotions and invites deep reflection. The uncomplicated yet gripping nature of the piece allows for diverse interpretations, making it a profound statement on human emotion and expression, providing a rich and engaging experience for the viewer.

I have come to a realization about myself and my art. I am impatient and I have need for instant gratification. I get frustrated with time consuming traditional techniques and want to skip ahead to the end. These are the reasons that I am a series artist. I like to experiment with an idea or a technique until I am satisfied with the result. The inspiration for my work is in trying the new techniques. Having freedom of expression and not being limited to one style or technique of making art are paramount to my identity as an artist. I love the many different processes of making art and experimenting with new ways of creating art. My inspiration stems from color, music, literature, and the excitement about the unknown possibilities of taking everyday objects and using them in a way that differs from what the manufacturer intended. I use a combination of found objects, acrylic paints, and aerosol paints to create abstract patterns on wood and canvas. Some of my methods include combining different chemicals and paint on paper or in plastic or wood box frames and using centrifugal force and gravity to distort vivid colors that are mixed or thrown right on the canvas. The result is the distortion of lines and contours, and layers of translucent or opaque paints on the canvas or in random patterns.
