Fresh Light Painting

I am a watercolour artist based in Warwickshire, UK. My background is in design (Glasgow School of Art) where I used graphical and design presentation drawings by hand and digitally to communicate my work. Stepping away from my career in Product Design in 2020, I now explore and experiment with watercolour and drawing. I am forever delighted by variation of work created by a simple pen / pencil and paper and love to explore in this medium. I have a busy life apart from my art so sketching and drawing allows me to continue to work around this - as I write this, I am sitting by the water, watching my son at a sailing event - a perfect opportunity for a quick drawing session! I am continually inspired by my experiences and surroundings. I find the world a beautiful place; I love nature and am especially drawn to water. I grew up on the south coast of England, so the sea means a great deal to me. My paintings are predominantly created to represent these experiences and recreate the feeling and passion I have for our world. I have exhibited in a number of galleries and arts events in the UK, with art cards availble in local shops. In addition to my practice, I run an Sketch Club, where we look at the various elements of art such as composition, proportion, shading... I really enjoy working with other artists of all abilities to help them develop their understanding and appreciation of art.
