ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Dedicated and iconic painter. A woman of courage, she is a symbol of feminism. The spatula-the palette knife-gives the depth that I imagined for a painting and the oils give substance and vibrant finesse. Ì have been incorporating aerial rendering of spray paint into my work. It offers me a more pronounced contrast to the material brought by the palette knife. The fluorescent pigments that I use, illuminate in the evening with UV light; offering a more imaginary reading of my work.

Gilliane Warzée was born in 1977 in Bastogne, Belgium. At the age of 28, Gilliane discovered a sudden passion for art and enrolled at the Institute of Fine Arts of Arlon, Belgium, where she studied painting from September 2006 to her graduation in June 2009. For 10 years, her artistic career is centered mainly on the faces, exploring colors, expressions and energy that emerge. Oil and knife allow her to build, sculpt face on the canvas, bringing power to their features, according to her interpretation of reality. For Gilliane, the most important is to show through the emotions in the body of painting, through the eyes of his characters.
