I "take notes" when I drive--meaning I constantly snap photos of the colors and scenery around me.  Often the worse photos make for the best paintings--or photos that would seem kitschig regain something of their wildness once painted.  

This particular shot was taken from the freeway on the drive through northern Italy.  Each season brings its own palette of colors--here we see the delicate pastels of a late winter sunset.  Although painted horizontally, many prefer to see it displayed vertically.  I do like how the drips become motion this way, but I do believe it can be left to the beholder to decide.
