From The Hospital Window. Painting

Layers of paint and medium build up this complex painting. The initial inspiration came from looking out of a hospital window while visiting my mother. On the window was a sheet of 'tinted' plastic to mute the glare of the sun. It was peeling off in places and gave this dotted, almost wet appearence. There is an underlying unsettling feel to the piece for me but the image itself has playful elements. It came from a time of impending loss, it's a painting that sits in the 'space between'. Elements of representation mixed with contemplation.
