Every day in Ukraine we are at war, fighting on different fronts. Every day we wake up with thoughts of freedom, development, prosperity. We dream of rising from the ashes. Every inhabitant of our country, who stayed and who left, finds new meanings in his life. From the first days of the war in Ukraine, anxiety, anger and despair do not leave that you cannot influence anything in your life. Meanings have changed, "hands down", but you know that you need to live this day for something important. Ukrainians are now fighting every one as best they can. And I again take the brush in my hands and with thoughts about my country I think about a new plot for the picture. The female image for me is the most important in painting. For many centuries, a woman was deprived of the right to express her individuality, feelings, experiences. It is difficult for a woman in this world, I pass this image through myself. I want to leave the female image, for many years, as vulnerable, sensual, unknown as nature. In the picture, I used several methods of working with watercolor: on dry, on wet, mixed and layered technique. I added contours to the work with a gel pen. A series of paintings "From Ukraine with Love" are united by a common theme: will, freedom, struggle, sadness and hope for a new stage in the development of our society. The paintings in restrained colors, dominated by brown, gray and muted colors of the flag of Ukraine. With these pictures, I tried to make a cultural contribution to the fight against invaders and support for our glorious warriors, our suffering people. I created this series of paintings while under occupation, in the city of Kherson.

Ukraine
Hello ! I am an artist from Ukraine. I draw and painting from early childhood. Creativity - my whole life. In my work, I am inspired by the world around me: nature, the female image, the architecture of cities, the sea. I like to express my understanding of the world and what is happening through symbolism in paintings. In my paintings I often use stylization, ornaments, collages of figures, flowers, architecture. The female image is the most important for me in painting. In my work, I am inspired by the surrounding world: nature, the female image, the architecture of cities, the sea. I like to express my feelings and understanding through symbolism in the paintings. I love watercolor for its elusiveness, danger, unpredictability. I find these traits in the female image as well. Watercolors are delicate, unpredictable, you never know how the paint will lay on paper, how the colors will flow and mix. I love to create series of paintings that inspire me: woman, flowers, Renaissance, Impressionism, Art Nouveau. Watercolor is my whole life! It is light, airy, momentary - as the paint lay down, so it will be. Therefore, when you create a picture, you don’t fully know how it will end up. I often draw tender, vulnerable female images, as I myself have been subjected to sexism, humiliation, pressure due to the fact that I am a woman. I myself fought for my freedom of expression, I am proud that I am an artist. With my painting, I inspire people to search for beauty around us. I take part in art exhibitions. I never expect inspiration in my life! It is always with me. My motto is beauty, light, harmony in every work! I have been painting since birth. I studied for many years and still do not stop improving in painting. I always said that I would create under the bombs. And now this time has come. And yes, I continue to work. Only now I'm sitting with a brush, and inside I'm squeezing from anger, pain, resentment. Many of us fight in different ways: someone with a gun, someone with a word, someone with creativity. I loved symbolism and now I am trying to convey the bright image of Ukraine with gray, dark colors. https://www.facebook.com/olga.larina.art https://www.instagram.com/larinamagicart
