Amsterdam based artist Corina Hallatu draws her inspiration from the ancient and Mystic worlds. Captivated by the stories of Avalon, as well as the Seth books by Jane Roberts, she is always longing for information about other dimensions, realms, and the mysteries of seeing and not seeing. Corina has created a series of secret maps, and a collection of portal paintings. A painting can be a guide or guidance entering a meditation, and a meditation can serve as a portal to another hidden world. Corina loves the cold dark winters in The Netherlands, but she is also drawn to Bali, Indonesia which she has visited many times. It is the magical landscape, the spirits and the intoxicating scents of incence, herbs and tropical flowers which keeps her coming back every year. One night in Bali, on the festive day of Nyeppi, when all the lights are turned off everywhere on the Island , she saw so many stars, and the sky was so close, that for one minute she thought she could fall into it.
