Dreamy floating fungi mushroom series. A three-panel triptych inspired by the beauty found in the natural cycle of decay and birth, mycology, and oneirology. Pale white pink peach cream palette. Mixed media, ink, paint, and gold leaf, on wood panel. Minimal maximal and monochrome. Textural, transparent, layered and dripping. Dense marbled textures are evocative of the patterns found in microbiological and astral phenomena.
The plywood edge and the artist's process are intentionally left exposed. Each piece is 12x24" and ready to hang with a custom-made wood french cleat that allows the painting to hover off the wall, or it can be framed by the collector. The triptych can be hung horizontally and fills approximately 24x40" (wide) space or can be hung vertically and fills approximately 12x76" (tall) space. Signed on the back.

Jamie Gray is an abstract artist, living and working in Denver CO. Gray has exhibited in galleries & art fairs in the U.K. & the U.S, had work commissioned for museum shops in London & Kansas City, had work included in hotel collections in NY & Miami, and sold to collectors in Australia, England, Europe, and the U.S. “Jamie creates paintings that are both geometric and primordial” – Aurora Garrison, Saatchi Art Curator The artist’s work can be described as a novel mix of geometric abstraction, minimalist & nature-inspired motifs, hand-rendered pattern & texture, and craft-based techniques such as encaustic wax, woodworking, gilding & paper marbling. Gray studied photography and graphic design. This educational foundation, plus time spent teaching and practicing design, deeply underpins her aesthetic choices and creative processes. “It is said that all life on earth is created from the matter of long-dead stars. Through my art, I'm interested in making quiet moments that represent some of the bold creative forces behind our natural world. The shapes and patterns I see in my environment — such as mushrooms and mountains, crystals and clouds, feathers and forests, wood grain, and cosmos — provide me with a constant source of inspiration. Ultimately, I’m interested in creating a graphic language of hard edge and geometric abstraction that offers up a space for multiple interpretations while also revealing a common visual connection between such diverse subject matter." – Jamie Gray, Artist Statement
