Contemporary Abstract Paintings Misako OBA’s artworks have been collected internationally. Her artworks include award-winning pieces are held in private, corporate, and national permanent collections in museums in Europe such as France, the United States, Japan, and other countries. She exhibited at galleries and art fairs in France, Belgium, Germany, Japan, and throughout the United States such as New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, and Seattle. Her body of work explores human life as a journey and it examines our soul and emotions. Her work also depicts its transient nature and perspective. Light/hope in the darkness, using a personal and universal experience beyond time and space. Her mixed-media painting often incorporates text in compositions relevant to each series’ concept. She layers and integrates timeless ancient messages/materials AND contemporary material from our time such as computer languages (codes) in an abstract manner. There are mainly two types of mixed media of her work; (1) Encaustic and oil based, which includes watercolor along with other materials (2) Acrylic based mixed media. She often uses her own hand-dyed Japanese paper in both work. She lived/worked in New York and other cities in the United States and spent some time in Europe.
