"Gran Vía III" pertence a la serie "Cuaderno de viaje". Escenas diurnas y nocturnas de ciudades en las cuales he residido o he visitado en alguna ocasión. De estos lugares me interesa la relación entre la persona y la ciudad. En mis representaciones urbanas, las escenas siempre aparecen sorprendentemente silenciosas, sin embargo los habitantes, los verdaderos “actores” de las historias que cuentan mis cuadros, siempre están presentes, de una forma u otra, por lo que las escenas nunca aparecen desiertas, pero sí inmersas en un halo de silencio y soledad. Un espacio real pero que da la sensación de imaginario a la vez. En ellos se muestra un momento misterioso, y sus personajes, anónimos para el espectador, muestran siempre una cierta soledad y melancolía, un sentimiento poético que los rodea.

Rosana Sitcha was born in Cartagena (south-east of Spain), on 8th January 1981. She was awarded a degree in Fine Arts by San Carlos Faculty, at the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 2005. She is specialised in drawing and painting. She has done some courses with prestigious painters such as Antonio López, Eloy Morales and Cristobal Gabarrón. She has worked as a painter since she finished her degree, focusing her work on urban landscape and female portrait, both represented from a very personal perspective. Her work has been exhibited in numerous art galleries of Spain. So far, she has taken part in 20 individual exhibitions in cities such as Madrid, Barcelona, Zaragoza, Oviedo, Murcia and Cartagena. She has also participated in more than 200 collective exhibitions, including selections, awards and national and international fairs. Since 2005, she has been awarded several national and international prizes, 25 in total. Furthermore, some of her pieces of work are in different collections that belong to city councils, county councils and museums.
