This painting is part of an ongoing series called Chameleon in which I play with the idea of connection to one's surroundings. These pieces reflect both interior and exterior spaces and often a combination of the two. Many of these paintings wrestle with the need to identify and yet not completely losing oneself. This piece plays with art deco inspired geometric pattern. George doesn't take himself too seriously and is prone to optimism in most scenarios. This painting is edged in the copper color of the background. It is titled, signed and dated on the back and wired to hang. Thank you for supporting my work!

Born and raised in the Upper Midwest, Shawna draws deep from the winter-forged well of her over-active imagination. She tends to paint things that amuse or puzzle her. Her folk-style paintings explore many topics such as science, metaphors, nature, humor, patterns, paradoxes, fairytales and a wide variety of musings on domestic subjects. Shawna graduated in 2000 from the University of Minnesota - Duluth with a BFA in Studio Art, Emphasis on Drawing and Printmaking. She has exhibited both locally and nationally. Shawna lives with her verbally talented husband, their twins and a menagerie of critters in a lively neighborhood near lovely Lake Superior.
