About The Artwork

Eyecatcher. I think that's the best word for this painting. She must dominate the interior. When you come in the room she must take your breath away. The "WOW" effect. I love to walk the thin line between realism and abstract. I can be very precise and detailed while at the same time be expressive in my brushstrokes. This painting is full of green blue and neon colors, made up of thousands of layers and powerful brushstrokes. The first layers result in chaos but as the painting progresses every new brushstroke slowly transforms the chaos into serenity. And when that happens she is ready. Ready for someone with guts... I hope you fall in love with her!

Hi there, I am Femke. Born and based in the Netherlands. For me, the best place to be is my own big and beautiful art studio. For a long time i was afraid to share my art. The enthusiastic reactions to my paintings when I did open up, encouraged me to push further and go bolder than I could have ever imagined. My first two solo exhibitions were a great succes, with all my work selling out. I initially rented a studio, but a few years later I took the final step. I bought a house with my own studio and quit my job to become fultime artist. In this period I made national television multiple times and was portraited in several newspapers. My paintings are eyecatchers all over the world, from the Netherlands to Tokio, Hong Kong, and London. I received several awards, and was especially very happy with the public audience award during te Europe Art Fair 2021. I consider myself a lucky bastard. Eyecatchers. I think that's the best word for my paintings. They must dominate the interior. When you enter the room she must take your breath away. The "WOW" effect. Inspired by pop art, graffiti and street art I paint women. My style is unique, depicting beautiful women with mesmerizing eyes in daring and vibrant colors. But even though every painting is unique in color and style, you will immediately recognise it as an original Femke Kock. I love to walk the thin line between realism and abstract. I can be very precise and detailed while at the same time be expressive in my brushstrokes. My paintings are full of strong colors, made up of thousands of layers and powerful brushstrokes. I use a variety of materials such as acrylic, spray paint, music sheets, and maps. The first layers are initially chaotic but as the painting progresses every new brushstroke slowly transforms the chaos into serenity. And when that happens she is ready. Ready for someone with guts... Another big source of inspiration for me is music. I cannot imagine painting without music, and therefore I dedicate each of my paintings to a song I love. From Tom Waits to Abba and from Bach to New Order… no guilty pleasures for me, only pleasure.
