Up Side Down "It's by the end that things start. " This is how the artist describes the new series "Upside Down" born on the ashes of Manesta’s previous project "Happy End" revisiting the end of the world, which finally did not take place on 21.12.12, as our ancestors predicted. But was this really true? Is there anything after the famous 21.12.12? Manesta, has been inspired to ponder the question of new beginnings. This can only be created on the basis of an ancient world, which hides in the mirror of the water. This reflection leads to the chaos of techniques. She uses all the known material, oil, watercolor, acrylic, tempera with homemade tempera, combines it with the ashes of the old world. A real cocktail. The canvases expand to make room for large gestures that are lost in the reflection of cities between yesterday and tomorrow. Let's make room for this new world, with the question: What will be tomorrow? Text by Sandrine Rossel - author

Switzerland
MANESTA is a Swiss artist working between Switzerland and France. Curious and passionate, she is introduced to the practice of art through academic drawing: anatomical description, live models and nudes. The study of the human body plays a vital role in its formation. Meeting and collaborating with other artists opens her eyes and introduces her to new worlds such as painting, which she constantly looks for assembling materials, combining oil, acrylic, watercolor and manufacturer's own emulsions to paint. During extended travels in the United States, she turned to sculpture, with a particular affinity for the human being, his body, his emotions and the role that he plays in the world. A theme that expresses itself fully in his sculptures and high reliefs. Everything is movement, expression and dynamism, everything is revealed as a celebration of life.
