A slight departure from my usual cityscapes or landscapes, but a scene I enjoyed putting together of a Steam train pulling away from Goathland station up on the Yorkshire Moors. This station has been featured in TV and film, most recently masquerading as Hogwarts in the Harry Potter movies. With Christmas fast approaching I decided to make this a winter scene and the finished illustration is featured in the 2013 Christmas card pack. I built up the paint with my usual acrylic palette on specialist acrylic paper... then the drawing was completed with a black outlining ink over the top. The finish is a classic black 40 x 40 cm Nielsen aluminium frame which is ready to hang. Smaller gifts, Exhibition photos and blog at:

Jonathan is a professional artist and illustrator working with big colours and lots of detail. "I find new compositions through travelling and exploring, visiting popular places around the UK, Europe and beyond. I try to bring a fresh perspective and a bold palette of colour to the landmarks you already know... and perhaps introduce you to a few to new locations along the way."
