I’m working on a circular format now that is integrating the Goddess and her magical number 3. It is Mother Earth related, thirteen lunar month related too and these pieces are 13inches / 33cm in diameter. • This one is ‘Goddess Freya’ who is the great goddess of Northern Europe, leader of the primal matriarchs, Dísir. It has been said that nothing could be lucky without Freya’s presence. Why then was Friday, the number 13, and the 13th called unlucky? Because early Christianity denigrated everything associated with female divinity. The book you see here is a much loved reference book by Barbara G Walker. Painted on vegan paper, Stonehenge Cold Press, with vegan brushes and paints. Signed, titled and dated, October 2020, on the back. Unframed but have your local framer ‘float mount’ it, on white, in a limed oak frame or soft white frame. Also get it framed behind museum quality glass to protect the work. I'm most active on my insta aineatara.art I have more photos over there and on my website.

Áine Atara is an interior architect, designer and artist. Loyal to modernism, beauty and simplicity, Áine also works with a thorough obsession with layers, matrixes, nature and form. This combination is always present in her work, in both art and design. Working primarily on watercolour blocks she uses a layering technique, painting first and later adding drawn elements in black and white ink. Perpetually responding to witnessing light in the world, Áine works intuitively to create abstracted compositions that explore surface and depth and our soul’s experience on planet earth. This is evident in her pieces which have been called “simultaneously ethereal and strong”. Her work is held in private collections in Ireland, Germany, Switzerland, Australia, Zambia, Aruba, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates. A Registered Interior Designer at BIID (British Institute of Interior Design) Áine is also known for creating contemporary minimal interiors. In her career she has designed upscale residences for the royal families of the United Arab Emirates and has created interiors at the London headquarters of Accenture and Barclays Asset Management among others.
