About The Artwork
Going Up: The diver returns from a wonderful experience under water. She is floating up, back towards the light and new breath, exhausted but happy. I like not to paint merely naturalistic but to mix it up with pop art elements like the polka dots of the swimsuit. Technical Details: The canvas is stretched on a massive wooden frame about 2 inches deep. The silver parts are attached in classic gold plating technique with composition aluminum leaves. The painting is carried out with acrylic colors, spray paint, watercolor and mixed media. The edges are mostly as well covered with metal leaves. Some parts are painted as well. The painting can be installed immediately. No additional framing will be needed.
