About The Artwork

Painted on circuit boards, I re-ignited some of the circuits to achieve a light, especially when a gallery light is shone on it and it reflects the light. I also soldered coloured wires to create city light "imagery" like traffic and streets, dense concentrated light etc. This work began in the early 1990's when i was a computer sales consultant. The redundancy of the industry brought us back thousands of obsolete circuit boards and mother boards. I was determined to continue their life and started painting on them. My son was born around that time and I often had to work late and get my son to bed so the "night scape was the only landscape I saw! I think circuit boards are the perfect contemporary canvas! I have always envisioned myself as one of the lights "on" in the painting[, working late in my studio.

Over his career he has worked in a wide variety of mediums particularly in the re-purposing of used objects. He believes waste is just a lack of imagination. He relies on long hours, landfill, personal experience, history, metal recycling and serendipity to make his art. Nationality is Canadian
