ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Gold emanates mysterious soft light that elicits a sense of comfort and calm. The artist uses fluid paint that naturally flows together creating an aesthetic field of varying shades of yellow and gold. The surface of the canvas is textured with silica sand and gesso which adds a tactile sensuality to its expression. Peeking through the layers of gold are hints of blue, green and red. These small specks balance and compliment the deluge of gold and add points of interest, The painting resembles an organic and natural phenomenon - a fire, sunset or drifting clouds.. The work is signed on the back and is ready to hang.

Perhaps my appreciation for abstraction comes from living in Canada surrounded by mountains, lakes, sky and forests. Nature continually presents me with soothing colours, exciting designs, delightful patterns, intriguing patinas and infinite space. Nature presents light, dark, shadows and movement which evoke emotions of mystery, wonder and love. My goal as a painter is to use nature’s abstract elements like colour and space to capture a particular feeling, a feeling of unity, passion or peacefulness. I strive to create painterly abstractions that mysteriously resonate with my deeper self and hopefully with the soul of the viewer. I believe art is a way to communicate one soul to another.
