"Gondolas on the Grand Canal" Painting

Donna Shannon is a London-based artist. She creates modern landscapes inspired by architecture and atmospheric skies. Donna draws inspiration from energising colours and character of vibrant city environments to the quiet ambience of local environments and sun-washed shores of halcyon days. The themes and motifs of the artist's work is colour, texture, light and shadow. City landscapes explore the intrinsic dynamic of dreams and reality presented in the utopian world beyond the glass of a window and its reflections. Windows signifying a reverberating dialogue between stationary and animated; elusive images and real forms and objects. Each piece that the artist creates attempts to draw in the viewer and evoke an emotional response based on their own narrative and interpretation.
