Martin Birkner is a german artist and photographer living in Dortmund, NRW. Several years he was working as a designer and art director in the cinema industry - creating film posters. In this time he stepped more and more into photography. So he decided to make a living as a fulltime photographer, creating photos for business and advertising. In all of these years he was creating individual art-projects from digital photo-art over calligraphy up to handmade paintings. Nowadays he is focussing on his artistic voice, mainly creating mixed media art (photography x painting). Using media like Oil(-Pastel) and Acryl-Colour refer to his love to classic art. Using spraypaint in lots of his artworks tell from his roots in streetart. In his pictures you can get a feeling of Gerhard Richter crossing the erotic photography by Helmut Newton crossing streetart.
