This small painting was inspired by my current work on how we capture the exotic, whether tropical plants in palm houses or shipping fruits halfway across the world. Grapefruits seem far from home in Germany and yet they are a very common food. This is an oil painting on wooden panel, using only the highest-quality materials. The sides are 3cm deep and painted a light grey-blue. Signature and year painted on the side. This piece is finished with a satin glossy varnish. This painting is one of four in the “Grapefruits far from home” series but can be purchased individually. Please understand that the colors can vary slightly from the photos, depending on the screen. I do my absolute best to show the colors accurately.

Born in 1988 in London, England, into a family legacy of gardening and an interior decorator mother, Rosanna has been painting utopian scenes since early childhood. Rosanna earned a M.Sc. in Chemistry from LMU Munich as well as further education in Management which led to a career in the pharmaceutical industry. Having established a full-time art practice in Frankfurt, Germany, in 2019, Rosanna is also a board member to the co-op gallery Frankfurter Künstlerclub.
