I am influenced by contemporary minimalism that emerges from the clash of local composition and complex colour, opening new possibilities for interpretation. In my compositions, i look for details, trying to define a figure, landscape, still life, through the nuances of lines between lightness and darkness

When I turned 17 I decided to become an architect – designer. Having chosen this sphere, I intuitively entered University of Architecture and Construction. It was very engaging to create plans, combine colors and materials, make 3D visualizations and graphic design. But painting was always something that thrilled me. It seemed to be the most exciting and fascinating discipline. I’ve tried a lot to understand what profession is more suitable for me. Now I entirely devote myself to painting and I spend almost every hour of my being to it, feeling that this is where I belong. I work with oil paints and use palette knife to dab paints on canvas, sometimes I use brush. But mostly it’s palette knife, it allows me to make outstanding textures and color gradients. Painting is the best way to understand myself. Among the themes that are most appealing to me is landscape painting, I always try to depict a sense of the changing world. Contemporary architecture within the context of nature and landscape. I’m also very interested in human nature – the beauty of the human body, poses, stylish looks. My work starts with a draft that I make on a computer using photos, textures and other program’s possibilities. Sometimes I combine various photos, searching for the best angle, composition, color blends. I evaluate my work throughout the whole creation process, sometimes I add details or even significantly change the initial draft. The painting is considered to be finished when after looking at it I get a pleasant feeling of satisfaction with the result of my work. My workshop is extremely portable. I often change my location, traveling to different places in different countries. My approach to painting is originated from my environment, people who surround me, education, experience. I believe that everything is correlated. I can name a number of masters whose works impress me: Richard Diebenkorn, Mark Rothko, Thiebaud Wayne, David Hockney, Andrew Wyeth.
