Bangkok has so many different bus companies running the same public transport routes and all over. The mini ‘green’ bus is a classic. Originally a clean mini bus with sound system blaring, over time they started to look ever more run down and basic. Shortly after I finally got around to painting my impression of this typical Bangkok scene … these buses were taken off the road! Another line of mini buses has since replaced them. The paper I use is a traditional mulberry paper handmade in Thailand. The paper is a thick parchment type paper, strong yet pliable. I have the paper made to this size to get the deckled edges which adds to the textural effect. Please note I have cropped away the uneven ‘deckled edges’ for the print. The close up picture is of higher resolution to be able to get a feel for the texture and brush strokes of the painting. Watermark is on the photo only, not on the painting. Packaging for my small paintings like this one is sealed in plastic sleeve, sealed in a padded hard plastic file case, and in an envelope. Please note that you can purchase in one order up to 6 paintings of this same size (small painting category) or smaller to be included in the same 1 shipping fee. I'm Canadian born now residing in Malaysia. I've been working professionally as an artist since 1980 ish… time flies. I have exhibited my paintings in Vancouver and coastal B.C., Bangkok, Singapore & Malaysia, areas I’ve lived in over time. Now I do it all online. I’ve traveled extensively over the years and you’ll see that people, places and cultures are a recurring theme in my art. I attach importance to papers I use for my paintings. Some are done on acid free watercolour papers, from 180lb weight to 300lb. I also use handmade parchment type papers. These are thick yet pliable, strong, with deckled edge that add to the look of my paintings. I’m still a passionate guy. I’m passionate about life and people, passionate about art and painting. And I feel really at my best when I’m putting all these things down on paper. I only wish I had more time to delve into all these activities of mine. But I work with what I have. My health sucks so I’m slowing down. And there's more: book illustration, portrait, comic strip, caricature. I also work with camera and computer, to create the images brush strokes just can't deliver. So follow my brush work and hopefully you’ll find that special painting meant just for you.
