Stella Whalley

United Kingdom

Stella Whalley is a London-based multidisciplinary artist and curator celebrated for her innovative engagement with feminist and social themes currently through watercolour and ceramics. Her practice merges traditional techniques with contemporary narratives, exploring topics that resonate on both personal and societal levels.
Exhibitions include Cross Lane Projects at the London Art Fair and Vestry St Gallery, London (2024, 2025),RBA Mall Gallery London 2026, the Venice Biennale (2017, 2019, and 2024), and the Nakanojo Biennale in Japan (2015). Other notable showcases have taken place at the Wilson Gallery in Cheltenham, the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, Birmingham City Art Gallery, and the Whitechapel Gallery, which hosted the 2007 book launch for Tokyo Tales.
Her practice has been supported by funded international residencies, resulting in large-scale installations in Japan, Portugal, and Italy. She has also delivered lectures at public galleries and museums, offering insights into her multi-disciplinary approach.
