As the artist, I was inspired by the timeless beauty of streetcars and the rhythmic flow of city life. These trams, especially in their traditional form, have a way of connecting us to the past while still being a vital part of the present. In this work, I hope viewers will sense the movement and vitality of the urban environment, and perhaps reminisce about their own experiences with streetcars or urban exploration. I chose to paint this scene because the streetcar is both a symbol of journey and destination—a link between people and places. The medium of oil paint allows for rich texture and depth of color, which I felt was necessary to bring the scene to life. The brushwork and style are intentional, aiming to reflect a bit of impressionistic influence, where light and color blend to create a sense of life rather than static precision. I want my viewers to feel a connection to this moment I've captured—to see beyond the canvas and imagine the sounds of the city, the clang and whistle of the tram, the murmur of conversation, and the bustle of life that surrounds these charming vehicles. In a world that is always rushing forward, my art is an invitation to pause, to look, and to appreciate the simple yet profound beauty of everyday scenes.
