This series started in 2014 by a comment from a Private University Director from my city Morelia about his point of view about the futility of acquiring printed books for the university library, throw away an old collection and replace them for digital text downloads for mobile devices. The gesture of a line on a surface to integrate an idea is one of the most noble and maybe the most sincere, the first opportunity for humans to communicate with other beings and even as part of our history. () The idea of the title it`s for my first visit to the Louvre museum in Paris and my encounter with the sculpter “Le Scribe accroupi” ( 3800 -1710 ac ?selection=44839 ) The desire for Knowledge and communication has a history and this is not a romantic idea but a real sense of interaction between our humankind. I think it is necessary and urgent preserving these analogues formats of text. When i listened such a radical Idea like forget this analogues formats of writing and read and interrupt the acquisition of printed texts it made me compare this with the idea of throwing away a Steinway & Sons piano and keep only a digital keyboard. With this series I make a tribute to the writing form, the pleasure of learning calligraphy pleasure to express ideas with signs. Find a new vocabulary and integrate new logograms and a new alphabet seems a rich way to re-express, out of my keyboard, a real-time communication with my environment. The idea of reading again and again my favorite authors and my weakness to hear the sound emanating from my vinyl records music feeds also this series. “A language in the instruments that will not distinguish between the content, the meaning, the words and sounds” Wim Mertens.

Serrano explores the relationship between geometry and dynamic forms to represent the passage of time in a person’s life, often shaped by challenges, interactions, and encounters. The incorporation of his self-created calligraphy describes secret poems with healing ideograms. At the same time René produces his main abstract series, nourishes another creative work in his studio: a portrait series.
