ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work's influence comes from many artist's works I love, such as Richard Diebenkorn, Louise Nevelson, Kiki Smith, Robert Mangold and on and on. Working with this level of texture is new for me and very inspiring. I love the added depth it brings to the work, embellishing the movement in the automatic marks throughout. Keeping my colors rich but not sappy or sweet is always a challenge. Color is a very important element to all my work.
