The canvas size mounted on the frame for this painting is 190x200 cm. Like other paintings in this series, it is painted with oil paints, while acrylic paints are used for the underpainting. The work's theme directly references the neo-expressionist style works of Philip Guston (1913-1980). It is not his abstract expressionist works that appeal to me, but the achievements of Guston's last decade. In these works, one can observe a moment of brilliant success, which could be defined as the author's complete clarity of thought. In these works, the author does not deceive; the painting's narratives are untormented, and he is no longer compelled to submit to the influence of the external world. These, in my opinion, are his most vivid and authentic works, representing a full expression of Guston's life and the sharpness of reality in painting. Using Guston's color palette, I have constructed a landscape with an abstract composition of trees. However, this is not a reflection of my personal life but rather a tribute to a painter who, in my view, has achieved what every artist strives for - a complete reflection of reality and truth through painting.

Ansis Rozentāls employs classical painting as the primary element of his creative practice. He views painting as the purest form of expression and the foundation of all art. His objective is to create artworks where painting intersects with contemporary, technological elements such as LED lights, smart films, and the mist from humidifiers. This approach aims to attract attention from various generations—both admirers of classical painting and enthusiasts of contemporary art and modern technologies—hoping that every viewer will find something personal and intriguing. Thematically, Rozentāls utilizes nature and metaphysical primary elements—earth, water, fire, air, ether—in his works, allowing for a broad spectrum of visual interpretations. One of his main goals is to encourage viewers to reflect on the environment and the structure of the world, helping each person find answers to questions that seem important. His idea of the symbiosis between classical painting and modern technologies marks a new way of combining painting with new media. By employing the fundamental principles of expanded painting connected with the capabilities of new technologies, he finds ways to broaden perspectives on painting as a whole. Within the framework of his practical doctoral studies, Rozentāls compiles and analyzes his knowledge and skills using research methods, primarily through practice-based studies. He actively participates in group exhibitions and their organization and develops his technological knowledge. In early 2022, he opened a solo exhibition "metaELEMENT" in Liepāja, participated in several international projects and creative workshops. Parallel to his research and creative work, he engages in various artistic events, assisting in organizing exhibitions and creating scenography, and working in advertising and the film industry.
