Gypsy Flamenco ~ Original Art ~ Carved Encaustic Sculpted Painting on Wood The inspiration for the 'Gypsy Flamenco' comes from my love of dance along with the beauty and passion of Spanish dancers. As a Dance and Theater Arts Major, my love for this amazing art form only grew while living in Barcelona, Spain. Seeing the intensity of this art form up close and personal is something everyone should experience. This is my attempt at sharing the beauty and awe I have experienced with Flamenco. The archival quality of encaustic works of art can last lifetimes with basic care. Treat like a candle due to the wax component. Do not leave in hot outdoor spaces or in direct sunlight. Do not leave in parked cars in the summertime where the temperature can rise above 120 degrees due to the potential for melting. The melting point for the encaustic medium is 150 degrees. The oldest encaustic artwork and most famous pieces are shown in the Metropolitan Museum in NYC, the Fayum mummy portraits. I am a multidisciplinary, mixed media artist. Merging science and spirituality, I create art for uplifting spaces. Hay, Paramahansa Yogananda, Buddha, The Dahli Lama, Mother Theresa, Jesus Christ, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Doreen Virtue, yoga, crystal grids, feng shui, Kabbalah, prayer and sacred geometry to leave both the viewer and environment transformed.
