The theme of Hathorian Awakening first began to emerge spontaneously in my work in 2010. In a much smaller piece I was working on at the time I noticed an unintentional but nevertheless distinct form of a cow or steer in profile with a round disc above the head. I've included a photo of this first work from 2010 in the photos. The Goddess Hathor is often represented in Egyptian mythology as a cow or a steer with a sun disk over the head and between the horns.

The cult of Osiris in ancient Egypt, like its more modern Christian counterpart, held out the promise of immortality. Originally the dead, male or female, became an Osiris, or a resurrected one, but by early Roman times females who had achieved this level of transcendence had become identified with the Goddess Hathor. Thus the Goddess Hathor evolved over time into a symbol of feminine transcendence.

This piece exemplifies the regressive process I describe in my artist's statement. It is a prime example of accessing and expressing, through the artistic process, levels of personal and collective consciousness from modernism back through the classical Egyptian period.

Technology has played an important role in the development of my work as an artist. Though I consider myself primarily a painter, I feel that much of my most original and progressive work is in the newly emergent digital medium. I grew up artistically in the heart of a technological hub and this was central to the integration of technology with my art. I do not believe that technology is "the" future of art. I believe that technology, like every innovation in art before it, is an exciting new aspect of modern art and I feel honored to be a part of that. I am also a theorist on the nascent field of contemporary metapsychology.
