One of the most important characteristics of art is to capture the essence/representation of time and space. This is a 9 (10" x 10") piece series, acrylic on canvas paintings based on "Instagram", a smart phone app which revolutionize the definition of photography as we know it. Early 2012, my flight back from Malaysia to the US was delayed and grounded in Hong Kong for the evening. I've never a chance to HK but always fascinated by it's rich and colorful sub-cultures. Without hesitation, I took the HK MTR straight into the heart of the metropolitan, despite the next flight will be in the early morning hours. These paintings reflect the few hours I have in HK - rushed, raw, distinct, condense, highly contrast, black and white. If purchase the entire series (9 pieces), the Special Edition (which consists of 4 10"x10" paintings) will be included for free.

Being an artist is being HONEST. To be HONEST to who I am, what I see, how I feel for this world. The never ending pursuit of one's identity - where I am running from and to simultaneously. Art is personal, again.
