About The Artwork
This painting is the very last one of the Homage to the Landscape Collection. I would now like to give you an explanation to the thought behind this Collection. Please forgive me for previously only giving numbers and no information on the subject matter of the paintings. I gave no insight into the inspiration, feeling, or style etc The reason for this was that I did not want to influence the viewer. All the paintings in the Homage to the Landscape Collection have hidden meanings. Every one!! Let me just say if I could paint an explanation I would do so. For a start, I deliberately avoided the easy trick of putting a tree at the very front of the painting, This would have given the landscape more depth and been much more appealing to the viewer . I decided not to do this because looking at a tree can be very calming and gives an impression that everything is fine, thereby diminishing what I was trying to convey. I subsequently decided that in this very last piece I would give the viewer a glimpse of the thinking behind my work. If you look at the previous paintings of this series there is no human element whatsoever in them. This was deliberate. However, in this last painting the human element is present. When an artist (or poet) produces a piece of work it is the result of a journey their thoughts have taken them . Homage to the Landscape is intended to portray how we humans impact the physical environment in many different ways, Deforestation being just one. Whilst viewing this last work in this collection please ask yourself " Where have all the flowers gone?" This Painting is the same size as No 7 in this collection It is professionally fitted with a white quality wooden frame and is ready to hang. All my my paintings are prepared so that they easily be place directly on the wall. My paintings are shipped with a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity.

Hugh Quinn: Profile: My name is Hugh Quinn. I am 54 years of age. Born and bred in Scotland, I have worked in various fields over the years. I started painting about six years ago, a natural progression in my creativity. I paint how I feel and I paint whenever I feel the inspiration to do so. Painting is like exercise for me. If I don’t do it I do not feel 100%. The material I use is oil on canvas. I have recently started using acrylic paint for abstract work. I consider Art to be mysterious and its beauty to be recognised by the viewer. If there is a theme to my painting it is ambiguity I feel the more ambiguity in a painting, the more enriching and appealing it is. I enjoy painting and I hope the viewer enjoys the results. I choose to paint from my imagination, I am self taught, having always explored ways to be creative throughout my life, writing poems and also song-writing and guitar playing. Apart from this I work as a Carer for adults with special needs, which is both challenging and rewarding.. My art work is on canvas ready to hang. All my paintings are signed on the front. All my paintings are carefully packed. I thoroughly cover each one of my paintings with bubble plastic wrap surrounded with sturdy foam board corner protectors , and tough cardboard.
