Halved Painting

I’m painting nonfigurative paintings. I’m not leaded by any existing visual signs. I’m analising the visual signs made by accident. I’m working with a lot of gestures: i’m distilling, pouring the paint, or flinging at the canvas. I’m using strokes which are strong and dinamic – also almost made by accident. The forms made by this accident are leaving an irreversible and important mark on he canvas. These forms are not necessarily matching the forms made before, so I try to make them match. I’m configuring, adopting this irreversible mark by painting its edges, recoulouring it, painting stripes on it, or making another gesture on it. The process of the painting is harrashed and meditative by turns, becouse a distill is one moment, but ’cleaning’ it can take hours.
