Since our childhood with the aid of the world of fairy tales there still may be a hero living in us that eventually fights its greatest battle with itself on the terrifying path lined with the darkness of demons, monsters and gruelling trials. We may encounter these trepidations on numerous occasions in any phase of our lives. The legendary tale of the Grimm brothers tells the developmental story of the state of initial anxiety caused by the feeling of losing the secure ground and defenselessness in which the characters of Hansel and Gretel personify the two broken halves of the human persona, from the feeling of hopelessness to the spiritual levels of creating belief and self-consciousness. The children are abandoned, without the security of home, the helping hands of their parents they meet the horroristic shadows of the dark woods that symbolize the complicated, unrevealing reality of the world surrounding them. If we regard the cycle of change it is evident that we are all on the road with no dictinction of age. Travelling is said to be the best teacher in our lives. It is an inner journey as well, where we may discover our treasures, values along the way through our personal experiences, through connecting with ourselves and with others. Trodding along our path we might encounter the maze of difficulties, that at first sight, might seem insecure and hindering. Hansel and Gretel suffer from the trials thrown at them, but eventually they step beyond the boundaries of anxiety and fear that in the captivity of the witch appeared real, in order to free themselves from these feelings. In a free mindset all of us are travellers during our lives. If we complete our set path the freedom of choice between the possibilities, that we have been granted as a gift, no matter which possibility we choose: that is the point.

"I wanted to break out of 'the grey' with my colours." Experiments with different materials, with the powerfully composed fragmented world of shapes and the strong juxtaposition of colours play a determinative role during the process of my creation. I use mixed techniques in order to find balance by merging them: oil, acrylic and watercolour, texture material or airbrush technique, canvas and wood and I sometimes cut and burn into the fibres. I often divide my paintings: one picture is a compound of two or more pieces. I may even sacrifice my figures occasionally by painting only parts of them to shape a unique composition. This fragmentation can be interpreted by the assistance of the viewer in order to finally put the work together into a whole. Experimenting with different materials, portraying colors in 3D, trying out different substances as surfaces are all parts of my geniune artistic view. The harsh compositions of my paintings are combined with sophisticated stories. Since my university years the research of the body of complex symbols and gestures have become my favourite means of expression and the featured motif of my individual faceless body images. In my paintings I am concerned with the themes of emotions and repressed desires expressed through body movements, with general human situations, relations and the illustrations of various roles just as well as the face as the carrier and projector of complex symbols, which is unique in all people and comprise never-recurring features.
