This painting is of a feeling. I wanted to document the in between phase of your 20's where you still crave the comfort of childhood birthdays even though your age is getting larger. The feeling of savouring each birthday with your parents because who knows how many more you will get. Happy Birthday Kids Love Dad is the embodiment of sentiment every child feels for their father no matter how warped, bumpy or misshapen they might be. It also embodies that classic 'dad you're cramping my style' vibe of all of those classic movies from the 80's and 90's. With the yellow and blue. This painting is third in the series and priced at 13.8% higher than "Spot the Difference Part 2" to commemorate the RPI inflation in February 2023. The pricing aims to highlight how inflation affects purchasing power and by default the money each of us has to spend.

Hi I'm Annie. One day I decided to start making the images that came into my head. Here you will find the collection of them. My background is in finance so I am pretty obsessed with inflation, tax and the idea of investment. But I've consciously decided art and maths are not opposites. You can have both in your life! More recently art, fashion and culture are entering the world of investment. Everything has a value and you shouldn't need to have an Econ degree to make successful investments. I've decided to create my own "market", where each piece is an investment. Starting with my first painting "Spot The Difference Part 1" the price of each of my subsequent paintings will go up by the UK inflation rate on the day they were painted. This is to highlight the impact of inflation in on personal income under a government that fixed many personal tax thresholds in March 2021 and won't 'unfreeze them' until at least 2026. Who knows if any of these pieces will sell. But it's time we take back control of money. Hopefully my pieces form part of your diversified portfolio/collection that hedges inflation whilst at the same time creates spaces full of creativity.
