ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is the first time I used hands in a Happy Quilt. The many, many hands, and creatures, heads and plants are all in their separate bubbles and distanced from each other. The idea grew out of the pandemic ( No Touching Allowed) , the isolation that all of us are feeling in our lives, and glad that in spite of the social distancing, we still can feel community. Susan Bresler is a painter who lives in New York City. Her art is in three Museum Collections She has exhibited extensively. Her Bic Pen drawing, Brick Shoes, won the Second Place Award in a National Juried Exhibition. I paint with watercolors for their luminosity and transparency. I draw pure geometry to create order and beauty in what I feel is an unstable world. Freehand drawing is woven into some of my paintings of 2018 to the present, and I have added other media such as gouache paint, collage, sumi-e ink and drawing ink and have moved into more Mixed Media pieces.
