Work in progress
Watercolour on paper, dried flowers and leaves. This drawing is not framed, and will be shipped carefully packaged in a box.

Nature inspired my work, or the disappearance of it. Plants and animals seem to be confused with climate change and therefore I decided to use real plants in my work.

I chose to show the eyes as realistic as possible, as people should feel the eyes of our children on our backs. It is their future we should care most about -- their carefree and hopeful future. A future we had once enjoyed when we set out into the world to discover our own place in it.

I am Anita Salemink, a writer and visual artist, and I was born in a village named Groessen near Arnhem in The Netherlands. I studied at ArtEz, University of the Arts | Arnhem, Enschede and Zwolle, and have participated in numerous exhibitions — see my exhibitions tab for details. Many private collections in Europe and the USA include my work. In my work, I try to find answers to life’s questions. The human form inspires me — the beauty and structure of the body, nature and organic matter — leaves and branches. I make watercolours and drawings mostly on paper. Sometimes I combine paint and graphite. I like working with medical skeletons, dead insects, found objects, pressed flowers, and nude models. I make illustrations for commissions under the name of Tabuki.
