Heart Painting

When I hear sounds I see colors. The basic principle of my art works is a sequel of various acrylic layers representing the different music impressions build up in the chosen composition. When listening to music new colour impressions continuously arise leading to a complete picture. The observer is not only invited to have a look at the surface but also to follow the depth of colour layers and sound impressions in an analytical manner. I have a very intense and lively access to music, particulary as I am a composer. In my engagement as a painter I turn music into pictures, i.e. opening a direct and concentrated access to music in forms and colours, which is an individual expression. Being a synaesthecist I developed the very rare capability to listen to music in the imagination of colours. In most of the paintings, I transmit the sounds of my own composition and also different composers. I am not only a painter but also a composer, so my music is tender and expressive at the very same time. In my artworks, I focuses on sounds, minor or major modes, moods, instruments, and finaly on the harmony of all these aspects. It explains why I paint in many layers. What is finally seen is my general impression of the music I hear.
