Heartfelt Contemplation Painting

I am Ahlam Amrani, a self-taught abstract painting artist, and my journey has taken me on a meandering path towards my true calling. Born and raised in the Netherlands, in the city of Leiden, where Rembrandt once walked the streets and began his gift of painting to the world. Raised with the belief that success lies in a conventional career, I pursued an MSc degree in Public Administration, immersing myself in the Dutch public field for years. However, destiny had a different plan for me. The birth of my two daughters from 2018, sparked a profound revelation – my path to happiness diverged from the conventional career I had pursued, guiding me to my true calling in abstract painting. Revisiting my childhood passions of fine art and poetry, I uncovered a concealed love for abstract art that had slumbered, awaiting its awakening. As a self-taught artist, I found inspiration during this phase of reflection and soul-searching. I discovered that my deepest dreams and desires, in line with my very name, 'Ahlam,' echoing 'dreams' in Arabic, served as a muse. Deeper lying callings, challenges that come with dreaming and pursuing your purpose, and the ongoing evolvement of the human experience, all feed my art and inspired the creation of my debut collection, Dreams. My artistic style deftly marries round and geometric forms, evoking the duality within humanity and the delicate equilibrium of creation. It draws inspiration not only from my inner world but also from my rich Arabic/Islamic and Moroccan heritage. Drawing inspiration from travels to my ancestral homes, I skillfully blend traditional and contemporary artistic elements in my work. This fusion pay homage to my deep appreciation for aesthetic harmony while honoring my rich cultural heritage. Through my art, I've discovered a profound way to align with my core values and passions. My journey as a professional artist has allowed me to combine my deep-seated commitment to contributing positively to the world with my innate desire for constant creativity and self-expression. I've found that being a helpful force in the world, fostering creativity, sharing the love for beauty and esthetics, embracing freedom, and diving into intellectual depth are all interconnected in the realm of artistry. Each stroke of my painting brush is a testament to these values, and each artwork a vessel for joy and inspiration.
