About The Artwork
I began making folding art screens as a way to make art that was more portable and configurable and to liberate my work from the constraints of being limited to hanging on a wall. I have since used them in my home to create private spaces, provide shade from direct sunlight, and for pet barriers. All while providing large artistic accents to my rooms. They fold up and are easy to move or store when changing decor. I used warm acrylic colors on linen to create the visual impression of heat, and painted with enough water mixed in so that the final screen would be translucent in a way that creates a reddish-orange glow when backlit.
