This painting does look wonderful against a plain coloured background
This painting was inspired by a walk with friends in the Alps above my home. My aim is to pay homage to Switzerland by using one if its defining images - the Alpine cow, against the backdrop of the Swiss flag. This small country is a diverse, peaceful and prosperous place and , I think, a model of successful integration. Almost 40 % of the people permanently living in Switzerland are either foreign nationals, or naturalised Swiss. The country has four national languages and the vast majority of people speak or understand English. I hope my happy, multi coloured cow can somehow capture the multi cultural openness of 21st century Switzerland.

Gloria Moore was born in the UK, and spent many years living in a diverse number of countries, which proved to be a very enriching experience. This was done long before the advent of the internet and mobile phones so she learnt to rely on her own resources and began to explore creativity in all its forms. Gloria is an Anglo-Swiss artist based in Switzerland. The natural beauty of her daily surroundings offer inspiration in the form of a constantly changing palette of colours, shapes and forms. While her style is, therefore best described as eclectic, her painting is invariably vibrant, lively and positive. When asked about her philosophy of art, her answer is disarmingly simple: 'Ultimately, I paint both because I enjoy the process and in order to produce works that give me a great deal of pleasure. It is my hope that others will see and share that pleasure of creativity.
