This image is inspired by the photography of Anthony J. Cappelano (the artist’s father). He was one of the few American G.I.s who brought a camera to the war. He took this photo of a German pilot shot down sometime after June 6th, 1945; as the allied command penetrated into Belgium. The irony of the pilot of war juxtaposed against the sweet but giant domesticated bunny is a charming slice of fun in a period of horrific confrontation.
