After studying at the Wellington School of Graphic Art, where he focused on illustration and technical drawing, Alan Ewart relocated to Sydney in 1970. Following a successful career in advertising, Ewart has worked for a variety of freelance clients including Miranda Wines, record covers for artists such as Sherbet, and posters and illustrations for articles in Playboy and a variety of other magazines, publications and movies. For the last two decades he has focused on what he loves, his inspiration by the Italian masters Caravaggio, Michelangelo and Da Vinci, amongst others. He fuses the traditional with the contemporary. His work is held in private collections in Australia and around the world.
