Henry Painting

Henry was painted 100% outside on the street, as most of my paintings are. The majority of the piece was painted downtown Toronto on two different areas of Queen st. and was actually completed in Burlington in front of lake Ontario after making the decision to take the train there to paint for the day. I had it in my mind for awhile that I wanted to do a portrait of a hairless cat, but the nebula effect in the background was never part of the plan. More of a quick decision that was made on the final day of painting it. It turned out amazing, and although the final product wasn't as time consuming as some of the work I've done in the past, it's definitely one of the most striking and visually pleasing pieces I've ever created, and will hopefully go down as the first of many of it's style. I did try to create a sequel to this piece a few days later, but just wasn't able to get the same kind of reaction out of it as this one got, and ended up scraping the idea for now. Something special about it I guess.
