I owned a bar in NY's lower east side. On a consistent basis, these hipster dudes would come in with a date, order drinks, start drinking, and not offer to pay. I'd have to wait there til the woman figured out he wasn't reaching for his wallet, and then she'd end up paying. Oh, and the guys were quite often douchebags, to boot.
