I am a dedicated, inspired and passionate artist with a long track record of creating original pieces of artwork through drawing and pottery. I have a strong artistic background with a history of excellent craftmanship and possess the ability to create art either for sale or for exhibitions. My art creations are classified by an intense expressionism with symbolic extensions, where primitive images- almost archetypes- are drawn from unbecoming worlds, almost forgotten and abstracted to the subconscious. They create pointed or fragmented spaces, with figures that try to breathe and give birth to space. They act as symbols of human passions and either thick or almost monochromatic spaces, where craft anticipates through decay to offer figures reasons for existence. Spaces and figures form an inseperable and interdependent relationship, where I search for a unity, a coexistence with something that escapes at the last moment. I create art, by drawing the beauty of ugliness, the anxiousness and the hard times that humanity faces. I feel settled now having the knowledge that my art creations inspire other people and I keep displaying them to larger audiences. A famous visual artist paid tribute to my art with the following words: " Gitsa's artwork is full of meanings that provoke thoughts. She is inspired by expressionism - that plays an instrumental role in her art- and cubism, which paves the way so that she can find her "footpath". Gitsa has an abstract and allegoric view, with no attention to details. She is mainly interested in the message and the empathy that derives from it".
