This artwork stands as a testament to my fascination with the enigmatic and surreal world of Salvador Dalí. Depicting Christ in the unmistakable style of the great surrealist, the painting emerges from the canvas like a dream. The figure of Christ, his elongated form and melted visage, rises against a twilight seascape, casting an otherworldly presence upon the serene waters. The inspiration for this work is twofold. First, it is a homage to the genius of Salvador Dalí, whose ability to blend the ordinary with the extraordinary continues to captivate artists and art lovers alike. Second, it draws from the contemplative nature of religious art, inviting viewers to explore the divine in an entirely new, unexpected way. I hope that those who view this painting will feel a sense of introspection and awe. I wish for them to be transported to a realm where the boundaries between the sacred and the surreal dissolve. Through this work, I aim to evoke a profound sense of wonder and curiosity, encouraging viewers to question the conventions of faith and art. The choice of oil on canvas as the medium was driven by its capacity to capture the subtle nuances of light and shadow, essential for rendering the dreamlike quality of Dalí's style. The subject matter, Christ, serves as a timeless symbol of spirituality and contemplation, while the surrealist style adds an unexpected twist to a traditional motif. This fusion of classic and surreal elements creates a unique narrative that I believe has the power to resonate with a diverse audience, inviting them to explore the intersection of faith, art, and imagination.

Annibale Pace, also known as Carmine, was born in Grottaglie in 1963 and later moved to Taranto for work-related reasons. His passion for art, nurtured since his youth "in his heart," fully blossomed when he discovered the art courses offered by Maestra Antonella Micocci. Here, he learned the fundamentals of artistic interpretation and its diverse applications. After a period of apprenticeship, his thirst for knowledge led him to the workshop of Maestro Paolo Tagliaferro, where he cultivated a passion for hyperrealistic painting. Not content with that, and even more intrigued, he found himself under the skilled guidance of Maestro E. G. Solferino, a meeting that encouraged him to approach the Artistic Center "La Casaccia," where the maestro conducted courses in artistic disciplines. With the cultural baggage he acquired and the experiences gained over the years in the regional and national art scene, he aimed to participate in high-profile international exhibitions, garnering significant acclaim.
